(Lyon: Jacques Myt for Simon Vincent, April 29, 1514). 4to. ff. (vi), ccxxxvi. With commentary by Josse Badius, Nicolas Chappusius, and Francesco Maturanzio. Title-page printed in red and in black within woodcut border, printer's woodcut device at center of same and on verso of final leaf, and with woodcut vignettes and woodcut initials throughout text; some capitals and vignettes heightened in red ink at front. Full contemporary vellum over boards, stamped in blind and in black, clasp hardware on front board, later paper label on spine, straps perished, wear and soiling to boards, wear along rear board fore-edge from perished clasps; contemporary inscription on front paste-down; front and rear free endpapers loose; worming throughout, heavier at front and rear; scattered light soiling to text. A very rare edition of Cicero, published by Lyon printer Jacques Myt for bookseller Simon Vincent. USTC locates only fives copies, with none in the United States. According to RBH, this is the only copy of this edition to ever come to auction.
